2023 Akwa Ibom State FA Cup: Six teams set to compete for title

Six teams are set to battle it out in the 2023 Akwa Ibom State Football Association Cup after the draws were conducted today ahead of March 3 kickoff.

Akwa United are the defending champions of the title after defeating Dakkada 2-1 to win the F.A. Cup for the record 13th time, no team has won more.

Since joining Akwa United in March 2022, coach Ayodeji Ayeni’s first trophy for the team was the 2022 FA Cup victory.

Akwa United won the State FA Cup for the third time in a row with this triumph, and they were given the trophy for life in recognition of their accomplishment.

Six teams to compete for the 2023 Akwa Ibom State Football Association Cup.

The selected participating teams are:

1. Akwa United
2. Dakkada FC
3. Vandrezzer FC
4. FC ONE Rockets
5. Vandrezzer Academy
6. Regnant FC

Five knockout matches to be played on the way to the final, while Akwa United and Dakkada FC will be given a bye from the opening fixtures.

SEMI FINALS

3. Akwa United vs Winner B & C (March 10)
4. Vandrezzer FC vs Winner D & E (March 13)

FINALS

5. Winner 3 vs Winner 4 (March 18)

All matches to be played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo with time set to be decided by the state FA.
