Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has provided a promising update on his injury, suggesting that he could return to action much earlier than initially expected.
The Lagos-born forward, who plays for Galatasaray in the Turkish Süper Lig, had been sidelined after suffering a muscle injury during a 2-3 victory over Sivasspor.
Osimhen, who had scored in the match to help Galatasaray maintain their lead at the top of the Süper Lig standings, was substituted in the 74th minute due to an injury.
Galatasaray later issued a statement revealing that the 25-year-old had suffered a moderate strain and bleeding in the right posterior upper muscle group.

The club’s medical team assessed the injury, with coach Okan Buruk stating that Osimhen was expected to be out for two weeks, which would rule him out of three key fixtures.
Having already missed Galatasaray’s Europa League clash with Malmo, Osimhen was also expected to miss upcoming league games against Trabzonspor and Kayserispor.
However, speaking to Beyaz TV’s reporter the Nigerian striker gave an optimistic update, revealing that he was feeling much better and was hopeful of a quicker return.
“I think I’m good, but I don’t know,” Osimhen said when asked about his availability for the match against Trabzonspor. “I feel confident, and we will see how things go.”

“It will be a difficult match, but we are ready to give everything for the victory,” he said. “They should continue to support us. We are grateful for the support they have given us so far. We are ready to give everything to win this season.”
