Sean Kanu, son of Nigerian football legend Kanu Nwankwo, has officially signed his first professional contract with Polish third-tier club Górnik Polkowice.
The 19-year-old forward, who previously honed his skills at Watford FC’s youth academy in England, is set to begin his professional journey in Poland, aiming to make a name for himself in the competitive football scene.
Following in the footsteps of his father—who had a decorated career with clubs like Ajax, Arsenal, and Portsmouth—Sean is determined to carve out his own path in the sport.
His mother, Amarachi Kanu, expressed her pride and excitement on social media, writing:
“Congratulations son, Sean Kanu. You have put in so much work and dedication to your craft, and I am so proud of you. More goals up in front.”

Sean first gained public attention in the viral Kanu Nwankwo and Sons video, which followed the success of the iconic Papilo Peak Milk advert. In the video, he spoke about his father’s legendary achievements, including his Olympic gold medal, African Best Footballer of the Year award, and inspiring comeback from a heart condition.
