President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ITTF-Africa), Wahid Enitan Oshodi, has praised Tunisia and the ITTF-Africa Media team for their outstanding organization and digital coverage of the 2025 ITTF-Africa Cup.
The tournament, held in Tunis from February 25-27, set new records for online viewership, further solidifying Africa’s rising influence in global table tennis.
Oshodi commended the efforts that went into making the event a success, highlighting the seamless execution and impressive digital engagement that captivated audiences across the continent and beyond.
According to the official media analytics report, the tournament’s online presence soared to unprecedented heights. The event recorded a staggering 973,700 views on Facebook and a remarkable 1,523,677 views on Instagram, doubling the exposure of the previous edition held in Rwanda.
Additionally, the YouTube livestream attracted over 94,000 live viewers, with another 32,000 returning to watch highlights—thanks to the world-class broadcast efforts of the Tunisian Table Tennis Federation and the ITTF-Africa Media team.

President Oshodi commended the efforts behind this success, emphasizing that Africa is making significant strides in table tennis.
“These numbers prove that African table tennis is steadily claiming its place on the global stage. I have always believed in Africa’s potential, and with these results, we must now continue to uphold world-class standards in all our events, just as we have achieved in Tunisia.”
2024 ITTF-Africa Cup was hosted in Rwanda with Nigerian star Aruna Quadri clinching gold.
He further acknowledged Tunisia’s role in delivering a seamless and top-tier competition.
“Tunisia was a fantastic host, and the standard they set during the Africa Cup deserves recognition. I want to congratulate the Tunisian Table Tennis Federation for this massive success.”

Looking ahead, Oshodi highlighted the importance of nurturing young talents, noting that their development will drive even greater engagement and attract more sponsors to fund youth programs across the continent.
“What we must focus on now is the rising generation of talented players. Their immense potential will not only elevate our sport but also expand global interest, ultimately drawing more sponsorships and partnerships to boost African table tennis.”
