NPFL: Chinedu Ohanachom terminates contract with Heartland FC

Striker Chinedu Ohanachom has terminated his contract with Heartland FC of Owerri.  

In a letter dated Wednesday, March 9, 2022 and addressed to the General Manager of the club, Ohanachom penned down a request for the mutual termination of his existing contract.

The former Nasarawa United striker said he is no longer in the right frame of mind to play for the club, stating that his safety is no longer guaranteed in the club.

He however thanked the club and the fans for their support and for giving him the opportunity to play, and wished them the very best in their future engagements.

Chinedu Ohanachom letter to Heartland FC

The statement reads: “I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the support, cooperation I have enjoyed amongst my fellow players, the management and fans of this great

club.

“I also want to state categorically here that, I am no longer convinced that I want to still remain in this club, I want my contract to be mutually terminated.

“This decision is born out of the fact that, my safety and other personal reasons are no longer guaranteed in the club. Kindly note that, I am also open for any formal meeting to ensure this TERMINATION is done without a hitch and timely too.”

Chinedu Ohanachom formerly played for Yobe Desert Stars, Plateau United, El Kanemi, Katsina United, Nasarawa United before moving to Owerri.

Heartland FC is yet to respond to the letter.
