Midfielder, Saviour Isaac scored a wonder goal from the centre circle in Vandrezzer FC‘s 3-0 victory over new boys Adoration FC in Matchday 6 in the Nigeria National League (NNL) on Friday.
The Lions who paid with points for goalkeeping mistakes on Wednesday against Abeokuta Stormers in a 2-1 loss were looking for a quick start on Friday and certainly got one from their most important player.
The goal came in the 8th minute when centre-back Bassey Odiong cleared a long ball with his head and Anas Hassan headed the ball forward to the path of Isaac, the diminutive midfielder smartly guided the ball pass his marker, saw the goalkeeper was off his line and tried the audacious kick from 40 yards to score what many are saying to be the best goal of the year.

Captain Samuel Edoho doubled Vandrezzer FC’s lead from the spot in the 84th minute after Adoration goalkeeper brought down Oloye Felix in the box.
Substitute Olalekan Abdulsalam made it 3-0 in the 88th minute with his second goal in consecutive matches to take the game beyond the visitors.
A satisfied Coach Henry Makinwa says his players are beginning to interpret his philosophy after the win.
“The lads have done well, performed well in the midfield and attack,” the former Nigeria international said.
“We are one of the few teams that have scored lots of goals in the league. We are happy, the boys are interpreting the concept. Overall, it was a top performance from the boys and great to seal it with a win. All focus on the next game” said an excited Makinwa.”
The victory is the second for Makinwa, taking the Lions to 8 points in 6 six matches in Group B1.
The Lions will travel to Warri, Delta State to take on J’Atete on Saturday, March 19, 2022 by 4pm.
