Nigerian National League side, FC One Rocket has announced the sacking of Head Coach, Emmanuel King and his assistant Coach Edu Udousoro.

In a letter released Monday, May 30, 2022 and signed by the Secretary of the club, Mr Moses Ukpong, the club thanked Coach Emmanuel King and his assistant for their services to the club and wished them well in the future.

The statement reads in part: “On behalf of the Chairman and entire management staff of FC ONE ROCKET, I write to convey to you the management’s profound gratitude for your worthy contributions and development to our prestigious club while serving under the capacity as Head Coach/Technical Adviser.

“However given the urgent need to match skill set and competence in handling our great club, your services are no longer required and you are hereby relieved of your position as Head Coach/Technical Adviser of FC ONE ROCKET with immediate effect.

“You are hereby directed to handover all club properties in your possession to the General Secretary of the club immediately.”

King joined the club in 2020 as the Head Coach and Technical Adviser following the departure of Coach Ndubuisi Ndah (father to Super Eagles and Orlando Pirates defender, Olisa Ndah).

He has been in charge of the ONNA-based club since the commencement of the ongoing 2022 NNL season.

The decision to relieve the CAF A licensed gaffer is as a result of the unsatisfactory performances this term with the Indomitable Boys sitting just a point above the relegation zone.

With 8 points separating the Rockets from table toppers Rovers FC of Calabar, the club has decided a managerial change will change their fortune and preserve their status in the second-tier club competition in Nigeria.

Coach Emmanuel King and his assistant Edu Udousoro were in charge of the team for Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Nnewi United in Nnewi.

Rockets have picked up just a single point this season away from home, a 1-1 draw with Warri Wolves in Ugheli which is also the only goal they’ve scored on the road this season.
