The Premier League table has been generated by Opta, and if Opta is correct, the rest of the season should be exciting. The top of the Premier League table produced by Opta couldn’t be any closer, with both Manchester clubs, Newcastle United, and Arsenal vying for first place.

Opta has meticulously studied the current Premier League season to create a formalized Premier League table that predicts who will win the league, finish in the top four, and be relegated.

The most anticipated game of the season thus far will take place on Wednesday when Manchester City travels to the Emirates. With only three points separating Pep Guardiola’s team from the Gunners, the race for first place appears more competitive than ever.

Relegation candidates

Southampton: Opta has selected Southampton as a side that will be relegated despite having a talented group. Southampton has performed below expectations this season. With Jesse Marsh taking the helm, Nathan Jones has already drawn rumors of being fired.

Bournemouth: The Cherries have been selected as the next team to be demoted by Opta. After the 9-0 defeat at Anfield, Bournemouth made some wise acquisitions during the January transfer window, and they now appear much stronger. Despite this, Bournemouth has been selected by Opta as the second team to be demoted.

Everton: Sean Dyche received two consecutive votes to be relegated by Opta. Opta believes Everton won’t be able to stay in the Premier League this year, despite their impressive performance against Arsenal.

Opta believes Arsenal will win the Premier League this season.

The side that Opta selected to win the Premier League this year is Arsenal! But not by a lot of points at all. The odds of Arsenal winning the Premier League are almost exactly the same as those of Manchester City, yet Arsenal narrowly edges the Manchester team.

The odds of Pep’s team winning the Premier League are 0.01%! Manchester City has a 48.89% chance of winning the Premier League, while Arsenal has a 48.90% chance.
