Victor Collins joins Nasarawa United until end of the season

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Nasarawa United have completed the signing of their former centre back Victor Collins from Iraq super League outfit Amanat Baghdad FC.

The defender who made 12 league appearances for the Iraqian league during the just concluded 2022/23 season will now be playing for the solid miners in the second stanza of the season.

Nasarawa United have had a difficult start to the NPFL season with just two victories as they rocked bottom in the abridge League Group A log with 6 points from nine games.

Victor Collins who rejected the likes of Remo Stars and Enyimba Int’l before rejoining the team he played for during the 2021/2022 Nigeria professional football league season said that he rejoined Nasarawa United because he has unfinished business with the club.

“I’m happy to be back in Nasarawa United,” said Victor.

“It was not an easy decision for me to reject big teams like Enyimba Int’l and Remo Stars but Nasarawa United is a special club to me and rejoining the team was a choice that I was happy to take.”

The defender who made 36 league appearances for the Bala Nikyu side last season, will be hoping that his second home coming would help the team to move further in the log.

Victor Collins made his first appearance for the Laifa based club, in their 2-1 win over Lobi Stars in a club friendly game.
