Enyimba FC defeat Akwa United, Remo Stars pick first away win of the season In Yenegoa

NPFL Super 6: Enyimba, Remo Stars share points, Rivers United clinch victory over Sunshine Stars

Reigning Nigeria Premier Football League Champions, Enyimba FC defeated Akwa United FC 3-2 in a week three clash while Remo Stars gunned down Bayelsa United FC in Yenegoa for the first away win of the season.

Enyimba FC took the lead through Innocent Gabriel in the 12th minute.

Chijioke Mbaoma made it 2-0 for Enyimba FC three minutes later.

Akwa United fought back through Kufre Ebong’s header late in the first half at the Enyimba FC Stadium in Aba.

Left-back, David Philip equalized for the Promise Keepers with a direct free kick in the 67th minute.

Soon after, Enyimba FC regained the lead from a Somiari Alalibo free kick.

In Yenegoa, Remo Stars recorded fi only away win of the day, beating Bayelsa United 2-1 .

Former Flying Eagles forward Adams Olamilekan gave the Sky Blues the lead on four minutes after he was set up by Samuel Anakwe.

Substitute Sikiru Alimi doubled Remo Stars lead 12 minutes from time.

Ekeson Okorie reduced the deficit for the hosts in the 88th minute.

Former champions Rivers United were held to a 0-0 draw by Kwara United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

At the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Shooting Stars recorded their second win of the season, edging past Gombe United 2-1.

Aliko Bala silenced the home fans with the opening goal for Gombe United on 10 minutes.

Captain Malomo Taofeek scored twice after the break to ensure the hosts went home with the maximum points.
