NNL Pre-season: FC ONE Rocket to test might vs Vandrezzer FC in Uyo

As part of preparations for the 2023/2024 Nigeria National League season, FC ONE Rocket and Vandrezzer FC will test their might in a pre-season friendly match In Uyo.

As announced by FC ONE Rocket via their social media handles, the match will take place at the Uyo Township Stadium on Thursday, October 26, 2023 by 10am.

Local-rivals, FC ONE Rocket and Vandrezzer FC will look to make use of the extended preparation time following the postponement of the 2023/2024 Nigeria National League kickoff date.

The Nigerian second tier league which was earlier scheduled to kick-off this weekend with a game between Akwa Ibom based, Dakkada FC at home to 1472 FC of Lagos will now wait for a new kick-off date as announced by the NNL Board.

A keen rivalry between FC ONE Rocket and Vandrezzer FC launched during the 2022/2023 NNL season will spice up the pre-season friendly match in Uyo on Thursday morning.

Whereas, FC ONE Rocket have had ample time together in preparation for the new season, Vandrezzer FC are looking to build a fresh squad after wholesale changes during the break.

FC ONE Rocket hold a superior record vs Vandrezzer FC in their previous meetings, the Indomitables have never lost to the Lions.

Last season, FC ONE Rocket knocked Vandrezzer FC out of the Akwa Ibom State FA Cup (2-1), before holding the Lions to a draw in the NNL first stanza league game at their shared territory, the Eket Stadium.

Coach Ndubisi Ndah tutored Rockets flew over the Lions in the 2nd-leg on their way to securing the groups sole promotion playoff spot.
