Former Vandrezzer FC midfielder Saviour Isaac announced his arrival at Rangers International with a spectacular goal, marking his first strike in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Rangers International, facing former NPFL champions Kano Pillars, orchestrated a remarkable comeback, securing a resounding 4-1 victory on a thrilling Saturday evening in Awka.
Saviour Isaac, who previously carved his name in Vandrezzer FC’s history, spent three remarkable years with the club in the Nigeria National League. During his tenure, he lifted the Lagos FA Cup with the Lions in 2021 and became the club’s all-time leading goal scorer with an impressive tally of 11 goals.

However, Rangers clawed their way back into the game when Godwin Obaje equalized from the penalty spot after 22 minutes, following a handball incident. The second half brought a whirlwind of goals, with Isaac Saviour and team captain, Chukwudi Nwaodu, taking charge. They netted three quick goals in the 54th, 57th, and 62nd minutes, firmly establishing their dominance.
The moment of magic came for Saviour in the second half when he received a pass, and played it to Kazeem Ogunleye who returned the ball to him before the pair played another quick one-two pass for Saviour to sneak pass the defenders and stab home from close range.

Nwaodu extended Rangers’ lead, exhibiting sharp reflexes to capitalize on a spilt ball from the goalkeeper who failed to handle a fierce shot from Philip Clement, before firing home from the edge of the box.
The resounding victory propelled Rangers International to the pinnacle of the league table, amassing 10 points from their first five matches. Saviour Isaac, undoubtedly elated with his goal, expressed his gratitude to the fans, acknowledging their unwavering support.
In a post-match video message, the talented midfielder stated, “We thank you (fans) for your support. I think this is what we really needed. We needed your great support, turning out for us. This is a massive turnout for us, and we will keep doing well and making you proud.”
