Remo Stars Ladies’ head coach, Wemimo Mathew, and Nasarawa Amazons’ goalkeeper, Shukurat Bakare, have been named Coach and Player of the Month for April by the Naija Women Football Awards.
Wemimo guided the “Sky Blue Stars Ladies” to secure their topflight status in their debut season in the NWFL Premiership.
Bakare, meanwhile, pulled off a string of impressive saves for the “Lafia Landladies” as they topped Group A standings and clinched a spot in the prestigious NWFL Premiership Super Six playoffs.
The Naija Women Football Awards, established in 2018, celebrate outstanding coaches and players with exceptional performances throughout the season.
This year’s edition will take place on May 25th in Bayelsa, where various awards will be presented to players and coaches who have shone throughout the season.
