Sports Scientist shares insight on Kelechi Iheanacho’s fitness

Kelechi Iheanacho

Dr. Rajpal Brar, a sports scientist and physiotherapy expert, has dismissed concerns about the injury record of Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho.

Iheanacho is currently unattached after his contract with Leicester City expired, and several Premier League clubs are interested in signing him.

Speaking to Villa News, Dr. Brar stated that Iheanacho’s injury history should not worry Aston Villa or any other potential suitors, emphasising that his inclusion would undoubtedly benefit the team.

“He’s not had any injuries that would be red flags for any club looking to sign him, but he has not played too many minutes,” Dr. Brar explained. “The lack of game time can certainly be a worry, so the key is he needs to be brought in gradually.”

Dr. Brar also noted that Iheanacho is familiar with the demands of the Premier League, having previously played in the top flight.

Although Iheanacho is moving from the Championship back to the Premier League, Dr. Brar emphasised his previous experience in the top flight. “He’s played there before, so he will understand the demands of the Premier League.”

Iheanacho’s Premier League record is notable, with 196 appearances, 42 goals, and 25 assists. His proven track record and injury clearance could make him a valuable addition to any Premier League squad.
