Nigerian defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has shared insights on how he feels about working with experienced Portuguese coach José Mourinho at Fenerbahçe.
Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has expressed his enthusiasm about playing under new Fenerbahçe coach José Mourinho. Since joining Fenerbahçe from QPR in the winter of 2021, Osayi-Samuel has established himself as a key player and fan favorite, particularly noted for his spirited involvement in a pitchside altercation last season.
In a recent interview with Fanatik, Osayi-Samuel reflected on his experience under Mourinho. He described the Portuguese coach as “scary but also very nice,” emphasizing that working with such a renowned manager is a significant honor. Osayi-Samuel highlighted Mourinho’s ability to instill self-confidence in players and his desire to learn from Mourinho’s extensive experience.
“Mourinho is scary but also very nice. It is a great honour to work with him,” Osayi-Samuel said. “I want to learn the history of the players. He instils self-confidence in the player. I think I will learn a lot while working with him this year.”
Fenerbahçe signed Mourinho earlier in the summer, following the departure of former manager Ismail Kartal. With high expectations for the team, Mourinho faces the challenge of delivering results quickly and meeting the club’s demanding standards.
