Nigeria Premier Football League side Kano Pillars have parted ways with Paul Offor, who was appointed as the team’s coach only 19 days ago.

According to the club, the decision to terminate Offor’s contract was made by mutual consent, reflecting the club’s commitment to strategic adjustments as they prepare for the 2024/25 season.

In a letter published online, Chairman Alhaji Muhammad Umar expressed gratitude for Offor’s brief tenure: “Kano Pillars Football Club announces the mutual termination of the contract with its Technical Adviser, Paul Offor. The decision was made in good faith and with mutual consent, underscoring a shared understanding between both parties.”

The statement continued: “As Kano Pillars FC looks forward, the club is set to appoint a new Technical Adviser to steer the team in the upcoming 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season.”

Offor, who previously served as head coach of Sporting Lagos, was brought in under the previous administration.

His sudden departure has surprised many . According to reliable sources, his appointment on July 12, 2024, is believed to be a significant factor in the recent management and structural changes at the club.

Our source states that the Kano State Commisioner for Sports was not in agreement for the appointment of Coach Offor and so moved quickly to sack the old board, hours after his appointment.

Also, Coach Usman Abdallah is favoured to take charge as the teams new head coach in line with the wishes of most of the clubs fans and influential figures who are comfortable with his profile and understanding of the region.
