The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced a comprehensive training program for club officers, aimed at enhancing their professional duties and overall conduct. The program, which kicks off on August 13, is part of the league’s continuous development initiative, designed to bring operatives at clubs and the NPFL Secretariat up-to-date on best practices.
According to NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, the training program is a deliberate effort to instill decorum in the overall conduct of major participants in league operations. “We are committed to raising the bar in the NPFL, and this training program is a crucial step in achieving that goal,” Owumi said.
The first workshop, facilitated by Daniel Amokachi’s foundation, will focus on club medical officers and will hold in Kaduna. The second workshop, in partnership with the Benue State government, is designed for club media directors and will cover topics such as multimedia tools, public communications, and internal communication protocols.

The final workshop, scheduled for Abuja, will bring together club administrators, coaches, captains, chief security officers, and supporters club chairmen. Participants will receive training on various aspects of league operations, including decorum, conduct, and best practices.
Owumi emphasized the importance of the training program, stating that it is a “very intentional plan by the NPFL to instill decorum in the overall conduct of major and active participants in the league operations at all strata.”
The training program is a positive step towards enhancing the professionalism and competitiveness of the NPFL, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the league’s overall performance. With the new season set to kick off on August 31, the NPFL is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to become one of Africa’s top leagues.
