Tobi Amusan is optimistic about clinching the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The world record holder advanced to the semi-finals on Wednesday morning after winning her heat with a time of 12.49 seconds. American Alaysha Johnson finished second with 12.61 seconds, and Jamaica’s Janeek Brown came in third with 12.84 seconds.

Amusan narrowly missed the podium in Tokyo three years ago, finishing fourth in the final. However, the 27-year-old is confident that this season will be her breakthrough.
“The first time I came as an Olympian, I was around 18 or 19. The second time, I was more experienced but didn’t make it to the podium. This time, I believe it’s my season,” Amusan told Making of Champions.
The semi-final of the 100m hurdles is scheduled for Thursday, and Amusan is determined to make her mark and achieve her Olympic dream.
