Nigeria’s Gift Sunday joins FK Bodo/Glimt on four-year deal

FK Bodo/Glimt, the Norwegian Eliteserien champions, have announced the signing of Nigerian winger Gift Sunday on a four-year contract. The 18-year-old joins the club from P Sports Academy in Nigeria, following in the footsteps of compatriot Victor Boniface, who also shares the same agent, Atta Aneke.

Sunday’s move to FK Bodo/Glimt presents a significant opportunity for the young forward to develop his skills and showcase his pace and dribbling ability in front of the club’s supporters at Aspmyra Stadium. The winger expressed his excitement, stating, “It is a great experience for me to sign my first professional contract with such a big club as Glimt. It’s a dream come true.”

FK Bodo/Glimt’s sporting administrative manager, Håvard Sakariassen, welcomed Sunday, saying, “Gift, we have followed each other for a longer period, and he has previously visited us during a training stay. Now we are looking forward to getting to know him even better.”

Sunday impressed the coaching staff during a trial last month, earning his first professional contract. The club’s scout discovered him during a tournament in Nigeria, leading to an invitation for further assessment.

This signing marks a significant milestone for Sunday, who joins a club with a strong track record of developing young talent. FK Bodo/Glimt has won three league titles since 2020, establishing themselves as a rising force in Norwegian football.

Sunday begins his journey with FK Bodo/Glimt and he will be eager to make a swift impact and justify the club’s faith in his abilities. With his pace, skill, and determination, the young Nigerian winger has the potential to become a key player for the club in the years to come.

FK Bodo/Glimt continues to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, with Sunday’s signing following a series of strategic additions. The club’s ambition and commitment to developing young talent make them an exciting prospect for the upcoming campaign.
