Our roots
The Athletic NG is the brainchild of sports journalist and enthusiast, Nsidibe Akpan. In 2020, during the COVID-19, he founded The Athletic NG with the goal of building the best news platform in Nigeria, filling a void for fans hungry for deeper sports news and better coverage of their local teams.
