After a disappointing start with a 2-1 loss against Uganda in their opening game, the Flying Eagles were determined to bounce back and secure qualification for the knockout round.

However, they improved in the second half, creating numerous opportunities. Their persistence paid off in the 78th minute when they were awarded a penalty after a foul in the box.

Although they had opportunities to extend their lead, they couldn’t capitalize, and the match ended 1-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

With their sights set on a semi-final spot, Nigeria will face Senegal in their final group stage match.
