Ahmed Musa has made a shocking return to his hometown club, Kano Pillars, on a short-term deal.
The 31-year-old forward, who is Nigeria’s top scorer at the FIFA World Cup, rejoins the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side where he began his professional career.
Musa’s return to Kano Pillars marks a significant moment in his illustrious career, which has seen him play for top European clubs like Leicester City and CSKA Moscow.

Alongside Musa, Super Eagles right-back Shehu Abdullahi also returns to Kano Pillars, having previously played for the club in 2012.
Abdullahi was a key member of the Nigerian team that clinched the bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite the NPFL transfer window being closed, Kano Pillars will register Musa and Abdullahi as free agents.
This move is expected to bolster the team’s chances of success in the 2024/25 season.
