AKWA UNITED: Aniefiok Godspower confirms indefinite suspension

Akwa United midfielder Aniefiok Godspower has confirmed he has been suspended indefinitely by the club following fallouts from the CAF Champions League defeat against CR Belouizdad.

The Promise Keepers were eliminated from the CAF Champions League in the first preliminary round of the competition by Algerian champions CR Belouizdad after a 2-0 defeat in Algiers.

With reports coming from Algeria that the players led by long-serving captain Otobong Effiong, his assistant, Ubong Friday, and Godspower Aniefiok who joined the club from Rangers Int’l, threatened to boycott training and the match because of an outstanding match bonus, traveling and feeding allowances which was not paid to them on time.
