The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) heats up and Abia Warriors coach Imama Amapakabo has issued a stern warning that his side will not take Kano Pillars lightly in their upcoming Matchday 4 encounter.
The highly anticipated match is set to take place this Sunday at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
Last season, Abia Warriors enjoyed a convincing league double over Kano Pillars, securing a 2-1 victory at home and a 1-0 win away, thanks to Daniel Ijeh’s breathtaking second-half strike.
However, Amapakabo is well aware of the potential threat posed by Pillars, particularly following their recent home loss.

“Every team that loses at home will want to regain lost points in their next game. Pillars is a team you can never underrate, despite their home loss.
We’ll give them due respect, and I think they should also give us ours,” Amapakabo emphasized in a pre-match conference.
The seasoned coach anticipates an electrifying atmosphere, with both teams eager to showcase their skills and secure vital points. “It’s going to be a difficult game, like any other this season. I know it’ll be an exciting sight for spectators,” he added.
Abia Warriors are determined to bounce back to winning ways after a string of mixed results.
Amapakabo’s men will rely on their home advantage and recent success against Pillars to propel them to victory.
Meanwhile, Kano Pillars are desperate to recover from their recent setback and prove themselves as formidable opponents. With their rich history and talented squad, Pillars are capable of causing an upset.
