Members of Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) have arrived Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital as Nigerian Champions Rivers United lock horns with DC Motema Pembe in the CAF Confederation Cup.
According to the National President of the Supporters Club, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, members were drawn from different states across Nigeria to cheer the Pride of Rivers to victory.
Recall that a huge delegation of ANFASSC also stormed the Godswill Akpabio Stadium when the Port Harcourt based team decimated ASEC Mimosas of Cote D’Ivoire 3-0 in their last home game.
In the words of the club’s National President, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, “This is the only Nigerian team left on the continent, so it’s all about Nigeria and that’s what we stand for “
“We were here during the last game, and we assured that the team won’t lack support from the angle of a 12th man, so we are here again”.
“Our members came in from different parts of the country and we are confident that victory will come our way”.
Rivers United are currently topping Group B with six points ahead of Diables Noirs, ASEC Mimosas and DC Motema Pembe.
Today’s game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium will kick off at 5pm Nigerian time.
