Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie set for move abroad

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Bendel Insurance is on the verge of losing their first-choice goalkeeper, Amas Obasogie, to an unnamed club abroad. According to reports, Obasogie has attracted interest from a foreign club, and negotiations are underway to seal the deal.

Obasogie’s impressive performance in the 2023/24 season, where he won the golden glove award with 18 clean sheets, has caught the attention of clubs both locally and internationally. However, his high demands have led to Enyimba and Rivers United, two former NPFL champions, cooling their interest in signing him.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has been Bendel Insurance’s first-choice goalkeeper for the past three seasons and played a crucial role in the team’s success, including winning the 2023 President Federation Cup title.

Obasogie’s departure will be a significant blow to Bendel Insurance, who will need to find a suitable replacement to fill the void left by their star goalkeeper. Meanwhile, Enyimba and Rivers United will continue their search for a new goalkeeper to strengthen their squads.

In other NPFL transfer news, Ossy Martins is set to join Lobi Stars, while Sunshine Stars boss Boboye will be assessing his team with a pre-season tournament. James has moved to Sunshine Stars on loan, and Anyanwu has left Bendel Insurance for Swedish club Östersunds FK. Abdallah has reacted to Offor’s dismissal by Kano Pillars, and Akor has left Gombe United for Lobi Stars.

The NPFL transfer window is heating up, with several players making moves to new clubs. As the new season approaches, teams are strengthening their squads to compete for the coveted NPFL title.
