Rivers United FC will play their home games of the 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup group stage at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
CAF released a list of approved venues for the Confederation Cup group stage matches on Tuesday, October 10, with Rivers United FC home ground for the qualifying round, the Adokiye Amasiamaka Stadium, being replaced by the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
It will not be an entirely strange switch for the Pride of Rivers as the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo served as the home ground for their 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup group stage matches.
Coach Stanley Eguma and his charges enjoyed a successful run at the 30,000-capacity ground to reach the quarterfinal, a feat they will look to replicate this season.
Nigeria’s only surviving Continental representative will face Club Africain (Tunisia), Dream FC (Ghana), and APC Lobito (Angola) in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
