Super Eagles marksman, Victor Osimhen has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for top European clubs including English Premier League giants Chelsea and Italian Serie A side, SSC Napoli.
The English club have reportedly been monitoring the player’s development and have watched him closely after his display for Lille Metropole in UEFA Champions League game this season against Chelsea, where he scored his first champions league goal
The 21-year-old striker has been in sparkling form for Lille this campaign scoring 18 times and providing six assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
According to French paper Le 10 Sport,
Chelsea are ready to follow up their interest in the player submitting a bid in the region of £55 million pounds for the striker in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Italian Serie A side, Napoli are also said to have joined the race for the 2015 CAF youth player of the year as they hope to fortify their squad.
The 2017 U17 golden boot winner has attracted interest from top European clubs including Liverpool, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and FC Barcelona.
But Napoli manager, Gennaro Gattuso have reportedly made Osimhen his first-choice transfer target ahead of Paris Saint-German forward Edinson Cavani who is available to join for free in the summer.
The 2019 AFCON bronze medalist has also scored four goals in eight appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria since making his debut in 2017.
