Davidson Owumi commend Rangers players, officials on one-week close camping

The General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of Rangers International, Prince Davidson Owumi has commended players and officials of the seven-time Nigerian champions for their hardwork and dedication during the club’s one-week close camping in Nsukka.

Owumi, who is also the CEO of the League Management Company, LMC, paid a surprise visit to Nsukka, venue of the weeklong exercise to watch one of their training session on Friday morning, urged the players to show more dedication towards achieving the club’s set targets in the coming season.

”I must say a very big congratulations to all of you (players and officials) that have kept your cool and responded well to the coaches’ instructions both on and off the pitch.

”I commend you all for the dedication and comportment during this camping exercise and urge you to keep the spirit as we approach the start of the 2021/2022 football season. We have the best set of players here, and I believe we shall achieve our set targets at the end of the season,” he added.’

Rangers will now head back to Enugu to continue with their final preparations ahead of the kick off of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, season.

Meanwhile, Rangers ended their close camping with a 2-0 composed victory over University of Nigeria’s Lions Football team at the UNN Stadium, Nsukka on Thursday.

Goals from forward Elijah Ani gave the Flying Antelopes the lead in the 5th minute and Obiorah Emeka doubled extended the lead in the 72nd minute from the spot after Daniel Vendaga was brought down inside the box.
