Eberechi Eze hails Olise quality after delivery for Palace goal on Saturday

Nigeria eligible Crystal Palace players Eberechi Eze and Micheal Olise combined to produce a goal in the Eagles 1-1 draw at Brentford on Saturday Febuary 18.

Palace took the lead at the Gtech community stadium after Eberechi Eze headed home a cross from compatriot Olise before Brentford fought back to earn a point with a late equalizer.

In his post match interview, Crystal Palace goalscorer Eze hailed the quality of teammate Olise and also expressed sadness the goal wasn’t enough to take home maximum points.

Eze said “Obviously I know Michael’s quality, and he can put the ball where he wants it when he cuts inside,”

“I was in the right position. You know his quality. He wants to come on his left foot and either he shoots or crosses, so just being the right space helps.

On his substitute role for Patrick Viera tutored Eagles and their inability to hold on to secure the win, Eze opined he can only work hard and be ready to play when he gets opportunity.

“I just need to work hard, try my best and when I’m called upon I try to deliver,” Eze continued.

” We worked hard, we gave everything today and it feels bad not getting the three points,”

“I haven’t looked back at [their goal] yet.

” It’s easy to speak now but in the moment there are so many things going on. There are probably lots of reasons why we conceded. We just have to pick ourselves up and go again.

“I think the plan worked well but of course we didn’t get the three points and that is the reason we came here today. It is a difficult one, but we move.” he concluded.

Brentford’s Nigerian Midfielder Frank Onyeka missed the game as he recovers from injury.
