Edo Queens have emerged victorious in the grand finale of the WAFU B Zonal qualifiers title, booking their ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Nigerian champions dominated Benin’s Ainonvi 3-0 at the Peace Stadium in Bouake, Ivory Coast, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in the region.

Edo Queens’ impressive campaign saw them win all three group stage matches, scoring nine goals without conceding.

They kicked off with a 5-0 rout of AS Garde from Niger, followed by a convincing 3-0 win against Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies. A narrow 1-0 victory over Omnisport Etincelle secured their position as group leaders.

In the semifinals, they edged host team Inter FC 2-1, setting the stage for their championship win. The Benin City-based team showcased their dominance, outscoring their opponents 3-0 in the final.

The 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League host country will be announced during the General Assembly in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, on October 10, 2024.
