El-Kanemi Warriors, one of Nigeria’s representatives in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup, secured a dramatic late draw in their Preliminary Round first-leg encounter with Dadje FC.
Trailing 1-0 at half-time following a 30th-minute goal by Bless Salassi, the Maiduguri-based side equalized in the dying moments of the game. Ajiji Samuel was the hero, finding the back of the net at the death to level the score.

The match took place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State. The second leg of the tie, which will determine qualification for the next round, is scheduled for next Saturday at Stade de l’Amitie General Mathieu Kerekou in Cotonou.
This campaign marks El-Kanemi Warriors’ third appearance on the continental stage and their first since participating in the 1993 CAF Cup Winners’ Cup, where they narrowly lost 1-0 to Al-Ahly in the semi-finals.
El-Kanemi Warriors will be hoping to build on this late equalizer and secure progression to the next round with a strong performance in the return leg in Cotonou.
