The Matchday 17 clash between Enyimba and Nasarawa United, originally rescheduled for Thursday, 19th December, has been postponed once more.
The game, which was set to take place at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba, Abia State, will not be played on the new date as planned, following a request from the Aba-based side to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) organizers.
Enyimba’s request for the postponement comes after the club suffered a tough 3-0 loss to Mozambique’s Black Bulls Maputo in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.
According to Nasarawa United media manager, the Aba Elephants cited logistical challenges back home after their harrowing defeat, which left the team reeling from the disappointing result.
Logistical Challenges Prompt Postponement
The rescheduling of the match had initially been confirmed after the original date of 14th December was deemed unsuitable, but the club’s management has now expressed that their situation remains difficult. The team’s return from Maputo and the subsequent recovery period were said to have left them with insufficient time to properly prepare for the upcoming fixture against Nasarawa United.

With the new date of 19th December now also unfeasible, the League Organizers have yet to announce an alternative date for the rescheduled fixture. Fans and stakeholders are eagerly awaiting clarification on when the tie between the Aba Elephants and the Solid Miners will take place.
