National League One side FC ONE Rocket have secured a slot to play in the Nigeria National League, NNL, next season after completing a swap deal with Lagos-base team Collins Edwin Sports Club.

We have decided not to play in the 2020/2021 NNL football season.

“Further to the above, we have decided to swap our NNL slot with FC ONE Rocket, Uyo NLO Div 1 slot on a respectable mutual understanding. We therefore as you give FC ONE Rocket, Uyo necessary assistance to register in the 2020/2021 NNL football season.”

FC ONE Rocket were eligible to feature in the Nationwide League One in the just cancelled campaign but now have the chance to prove themselves in the NNL.

The team is owned and financed by Otuekong Nse Essien (ONE) and is managed by revered youth football development coach, Emmanuel King, who is CAF licensed.

The Rockets will become the third team from Akwa Ibom State to play in the NNL next season, joining Vandrezzer FC and Ibom Youths FC.

With the addition of One Rocket FC to the fray, football fans in Akwa Ibom will hope at least one of the three clubs will make it to the NPFL by the end of next season, to complement Akwa United and Dakkada FC.
