Rivers United head coach, Finidi George, has downplayed his team’s 1-0 away victory over Lobi Stars, insisting that the focus should be on the next game.
The Port Harcourt club secured the win through Kabiru Abdullahi’s 72nd-minute strike at the Lafia City Stadium on Saturday.
“Every victory, we will take it. It’s just a game. This is nothing. We have to go back and prepare for the next game. That’s the philosophy, we deserved the win, but I think we were also lucky.” Finidi said post-match.

Finidi, a former Nigerian international, emphasized the importance of staying focused and not getting carried away with the win.
The Rivers United gaffer is already looking forward to their next challenge against his former club, Enyimba.
“We are playing against Enyimba, and it’s going to be a difficult game. We just have to enjoy this victory. It’s not easy to come here and pick three points. I must commend the boys for the effort,” Finidi added.
Rivers United’s win moves them up the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) table.
Nasarawa, however, will look to bounce back from this defeat.
