Enyimba head coach Finidi George has reaffirmed his team’s unwavering determination to retain their NPFL title, despite a gritty 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars in Akure on Sunday. 

The Aba giants maintained their second position on the table, narrowing the gap between them and leaders Rangers to just two points.

Finidi George, a seasoned coach with a wealth of experience, expressed his optimism, saying, “I think after having this one point here, we would build on it and see how we can win at home.” He emphasized Enyimba’s resilience, stating, “We will continue to push till the end of the season, this Enyimba we don’t give up, so we will see what happens at the end of the day.”

The coach acknowledged the competitive nature of the league, saying, “Others are playing also to see how they can win, I think this one point will go a long way.” Enyimba’s next game is against Katsina United on Saturday, and Finidi is likely to field a strong team to secure a win.

Chidiebere Nnachi’s second-half equalizer ensured Enyimba earned a valuable point, and Finidi praised his team’s fighting spirit. “I think we did well, we fought hard, and we got a point. It’s not easy to come here and get a point, so I think we did well,” he said.
