Finidi George, former Super Eagles head coach and incumbent Rivers United head coach has expressed his delight with the club’s promising start to the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Rivers United, under Finidi’s guidance, has secured three wins and one draw in four outings, accumulating 10 points.

Their latest victory came against Finidi’s former club, Enyimba, with a convincing 2-0 scoreline at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

“We are quite happy with our run in the League, even if not 100% perfect,” Finidi told Sports Boom.

“Every game is difficult in the NPFL; people don’t know. They just feel that if you get a draw, you would have won it.”
