Flying Eagles and Enyimba FC midfielder Daniel Daga paid a visit to his mentor and boss, Otuekong Essien Nse, in Uyo today, Friday, June 28, 2024.
Daga, who was discovered by Otuekong Nse Essien’s Carabana Football Academy, has rapidly developed into one of the most sought-after Nigerian footballers in the transfer market.
Daga made headlines as one of the standout players in Nigeria’s U-20 squad during the last FIFA U-20 World Cup, drawing attention from top European clubs such as AC Milan, Liverpool, and Watford. Last year, Daga and Otuekong Nse Essien held discussions with Watford FC in England, further cementing his status as a rising star.
In August 2023, Daga was sighted alongside Otuekong Nse Essien at Vicarage Road during Watford’s opening match of the season against Queens Park Rangers. Watford won the encounter 4-0, with former Flying Eagles midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru among the goal scorers.
After a stellar 2023/2024 season with Nigeria Premier Football Club Enyimba FC, Daga is currently on holiday. His impressive performances have fueled speculation about a potential big move to Europe in the coming months.
