Heartland FC is in mourning following the sudden and tragic death of their coach, Christian Power Obi, in a road accident on Friday, August 23, 2024.
The team was en route to the TICO/SELECT Ifeanyi Ekwueme Preseason Tournament in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, when the vehicle carrying Obi collided with a parked truck.
Despite efforts to save him, Obi succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital in Okwelle, Imo State.
