Ikorodu City rising star, Leonard Ngenge, is set to join Championship leaders Leeds United this summer after signing a pre-contract agreement.
Ngenge, a standout centre-back in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has been one of Ikorodu City’s most promising young talents. His impressive performances, including a goal and an assist in 18 league appearances, attracted interest from European clubs, with Leeds United ultimately securing his signature.
Leeds first noticed Ngenge during a trial last summer, but FIFA eligibility rules prevented an immediate transfer. Swedish side Hammarby IF also showed interest, but Leeds have now won the race, with the Ikorodu City starlet set to officially move to England in August after turning 18.

Ikorodu City Sporting Director Confirms Move
Wale Quadri, Ikorodu City’s sporting director, confirmed the move, stating:
“Ngenge has an existing deal with Leeds United, it’s a pre-contract. By August, he should be joining Leeds. He was scouted in Nigeria and then invited to Leeds for further training. He came back two weeks ago from Leeds.
That should be his second visit. He is being signed as a player for the future, they are just waiting for him to turn 18 years old.”
