“I’m closer to top form” – Rangers striker Christian Nnaji

Rangers International of Enugu striker Christian Nnaji has revealed he is closer to hitting top form despite being disappointed over his disallowed goal against Kwara United.

Rangers continued recent winning streak at home as they recorded thier third home victory in a row with a hard-fought 1-0 win over table-toppers Kwara United in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, Matchday 11 encounter at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.

Chiamaka Madu scored the only goal of the match in the 30th minute to give Rangers a much needed three points following last week’s defeat to Abia Warriors.

Christian Nnaji thought he had scored to double his side’s lead but the goal was ruled out for offside on the stroke of halftime.

“I was disappointed because of the goal I scored which was disallowed but it was a very tough game but I thank God we picked the maximum result,” Nnaji said.

Nnaji also revealed that his hard work and positively minded approach is making the difference for him this season.

“As you can see, it’s just hard work and my positively minded approach in each game we play gets me closer to my top form.

“The coach has given me the motivation and support to keep on playing to my strength and my target is to keep playing and scoring goals for this great club.”

The 20-year-old Akpugo-born striker has been one of the standout player for the Flying Antelopes this season, scoring three goals in four league appearances.

Christian Nnaji will be hoping to continue his impressive form when Rangers travel to face Wikki Tourists at the Abubakar Tafewa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi on Wednesday.
