A seasoned football administrator and enthusiast, Engr. Pereowei Joses has expressed satisfaction with what he has seen at the Port Harcourt City League.
“I am very impressed,” Pereowei. “From the first day, you can see generally the teams are improving, the one’s who did not do well in the early stages are picking up now.”
He also admonished the teams on what it entails to play at the grassroots level.
“It’s a learning process. It’s a grassroots tournament where we are supposed to discover talents. We have not seen this type before, there are always room for improvement from the coaches and players.”
On the issue of officiating, he has this to say: “At the grassroots level, there are room for improvement. They are also making amends as the game progresses especially where the complains are coming from,” Pereowei said.
Two matches will be played today as the league enters week 7. League leaders, SKE FC will confront DLine United in the first clash of the day by 1:00pm while bottom rocked Ambassadors FC will take on Port Harcourt United by 3:00pm.
Both games will take place at the Joseph Yobo Mini Stadium, Port Harcourt.
