Kano Pillars dissolve standing committees, appoint interim overseer

In a bold move to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, Kano Pillars Football Club has dissolved all its standing committees. The newly-appointed management board announced the decision in a press release on their X account, stating, “This restructuring is aimed at streamlining our operations and ensuring a more cohesive approach to management.”

Abbati Sabo has been appointed to oversee all committee functions in an interim capacity, pending further restructuring. Sabo expressed his commitment to the role, saying, “I am honored to take on this responsibility and ensure a seamless transition. My focus will be on stabilizing the club’s operations and setting the stage for future success.”

The development comes as Kano Pillars search for a new head coach ahead of the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. The club’s chairman, Surajo Shaaibu, emphasized the need for a strong technical team, saying, “We are committed to building a competitive squad and appointing a top-class coach to lead us to success.”

Kano Pillars, a prominent NPFL side, has been undergoing significant changes in recent times. The dissolution of the standing committees marks a significant step towards reorganizing the club’s management structure. Shaaibu explained, “We recognized the need for change and are taking bold steps to ensure our club remains competitive and successful.”

Recall that the management of the club had terminated the appointment of former sporting Lagos coach Paul Offor just 19 days after signing a two-year deal with the club. Offor took over from Makaiba who left the club on mutual agreement. Kano pillars have been managerless ever since.

Kano Pillars prepare for the new season and the club’s fans will be eagerly awaiting the appointment of a new head coach and the unveiling of the squad. The NPFL is expected to be highly competitive, and Kano Pillars will be looking to make a strong statement under their new management. Sabo assured fans, “We are working tirelessly to ensure a strong start to the season. Our goal is to make our fans proud and bring success to the club.”
