Kano Pillars lost the 1st leg of their Confederation Cup fixture 3-1 against Senegalese side ASC Jaaraf on Saturday at Stade Demba Diop Stadium in Dakar.
The Sai Masu Gida started brightly, taking the lead in 12th minute through David Ebuka. But the lead lasted just five minutes as Zaky Bassene equalised for ASC Jaaraf.
Samba Diallo turned the game on its head with the second goal for Jaaraf in the 38th minute just before the half time, to put the home side in front before Libassa Gueye extended their lead with the third goal in the 80th minute.
Kano Pillars have a high mountain to climb if they are to qualify for the next round, the NPFL side will need to score two unreplied goals in the reverse fixture against ASC Jaaraf.
The second leg will take place at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano between 4th and 6th December, 2020.
