Head coach of Dakkada FC, Umar Danlami says Kano Pillars will be under pressure to get victory against his side on Thursday.
Dakkada FC will travel to face Kano Pillars in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixture on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, before traveling to Makurdi to face Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium on Sunday.
Dakkada FC recorded their first ever victory against Akwa United in the NPFL on Sunday with a comprehensive 3-1 win in the Ibom Derby to bolster their chances of avoiding relegation at the end of the season.
The Uyo-based side were scheduled to make a short trip to Kano following their 2-2 draw with Gombe United last weekend before the fixture was called off for the nationwide States FA Cup.
Umar Danlami says his team who have won three of their last four matches are in good spirit for the two away trips starting this Wednesday in Kano.
“It is something that we know is going to happen,” Danlami said in his post-match conference on Sunday in Uyo.
“Last weekend, we were supposed to go to Kano from Gombe but the game was called off, but I think we are in good spirit and I really hope the team will do well.
Dakkada FC and Kano Pillars are in the relegation struggle, sitting two places apart with a single point separating both clubs. However, Dakkada are the team in-form and a win in Kano will take them to 13th on the log while a win for the host will see them move to 15th.
“We (Dakkada FC and Kano Pillars) are both in the same situation but we have an upper hand because they will be more under pressure because they are playing at home and following what has been happening to them recently. But I think we will try and do well to get something from the game.”
“We know there’s no other way than to put in the hardwork to see what can come out of it and thankfully enough, we have been getting the results gradually.”
Dakkada FC recorded a 1-0 win in the first leg in Uyo and will be hoping to get their first ever win against Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium having lost their in their two previous visits.
