Kelechi Iheanacho is clubless for the first time since 2015 when he signed his first Professional contract at Manchester City.

Newly promoted Premier League side Leicester City have announced the departure of Super Eagles ace Kelechi Iheanacho.

Iheanacho leaves the King Power Stadium after seven years of stellar service. The Nigerian star, whose contract expires on June 30, joined Leicester City in 2017 from Manchester City. During his time at the club, he made 232 appearances, scoring 64 goals and providing 33 assists.

His tenure at Leicester was marked by several achievements, including winning the FA Cup, Community Shield, and EFL Championship trophy.

Meanwhile, the contract of his countryman and Foxes teammate Wilfred Ndidi has also expired, but discussions regarding his future are yet to be finalized.

Both Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were named in the starting XI for Nigeria’s Super Eagles in their 1-1 draw against South Africa on June 7, 2024.
