Kelechi Iheanacho continues goal scoring run in Leicester City’s 4-1 win over Spurs

Kelechi Iheanacho scored in a third straight game for Leicester City to secure a 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening in the English Premier league.

Both sides came into the game bouncing following wins in the last matchday. It was Tottenham who drew first blood as Perisic’s corner to the back post was deflected back across by Kristiansen for Bentancur to tap in from close range.

Leicester City fought back through Nampalay Mendy in the 23rd minute. After Castagne’s header was cleared off the line by Bentancur, the ball fell kindly to the midfielder and he hammered it home in style.

In the 25th minute, Iheanacho controlled a long ball from a Faes clearance before squaring for Maddison to find the bottom corner to put Leicester City 2-1 up.

Kelechi Iheanacho will pile more misery ob Spurs on the cusp of half-time with his third English Premier League goal of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier failed to close down on the Nigerian striker allowing him time and space to fire into the bottom corner for a 3-1 first half score .

Leicester City will crown the victory with a fourth goal in the closing stages of the game, Barnes gracing the net with a low, curling effort from the edge of the box.

The win will pull the foxes further away from the relegation zone as their revival continues following have a poor first half of the season.

Kelechi Iheanacho again justified his place in the starting XI for Brendan Rodgers men, only his third start in 16 English Premier League appearances this season.

Iheanacho’s compatriot Wilfred Ndidi was a second half substitute at the King power Stadium on Saturday.
