Kelechi Iheanacho registered for La Liga season

Sevilla have officially registered Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho for the current La Liga season after signing him following the expiration of his contract at Leicester City.

Despite missing Sevilla’s opening match against Las Palmas due to a registration issue tied to La Liga’s financial regulations, the club has now successfully navigated these rules.

This was made possible by the departure of Argentina defender Marcos Acuna to River Plate, allowing Sevilla to finalize Iheanacho’s registration.

Iheanacho, who made his first appearance for the club in a 4-1 loss to Liverpool two weeks ago, will be available for selection in Sevilla’s upcoming match against Villarreal at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

However, it is uncertain if he will start, as Isaac Romero led the line in Sevilla’s last game and might retain his starting position. Sevilla will be aiming for their first win of the campaign, having won three of their last five home encounters against Villarreal.
