Kwara United  overhaul squad ahead of 2024/2025 NPFL season

In a bid to strengthen their squad and improve their performance in the upcoming 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, Kwara United FC have embarked on a major overhaul of their team. The club has parted ways with 22 players from last season’s squad, while recruiting 23 new players to bolster their ranks.

According to the club’s General Manager, Bashir Badawiy, the decision to release 22 players was made to ensure the team is more competitive and able to achieve their goals for the new season.

Badawiy revealed that the club has signed players like Abayomi Samuel from Shooting Stars, Jimi Iteji from Plateau United, and former U17, U20, and U23 goalkeepers Kazeem Badmus and Adamu Abubakar, among others.

The General Manager expressed his confidence in the new players, stating that they have the talent and skills required to help the team achieve their objectives. He also urged the players to eschew indiscipline and work in line with the philosophy of the club.

Kwara United FC finished among the top four in the last two seasons and even qualified for continental competition. The club’s management is determined to build on this success and has set a target of finishing among the top three in the upcoming season.

The recruitment of 23 new players demonstrates the club’s commitment to strengthening their squad and improving their performance. With a mix of experienced players and young talents, Kwara United FC is poised to make a meaningful impact in the NPFL and beyond.
