Lewis Hamilton equals Michael Schumacher’s record with seventh F1 title

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton wins his seventh formula 1 championship to became Formula 1 most successful driver of all time after winning a wet and slippery Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday.

Hamilton’s victory brought him level with Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher’s achievement of seven titles after he had already surpassed the German’s win total last month.

The 35-year-old British driver already had more race wins, pole positions and podium finishes than any other Formula 1 driver in the history of the sports

The victory at the Istanbul Park track was Hamilton’s 94th F1 career wins.

As he received the congratulations of his team, Lewis Hamilton was almost overcome with emotion in the car after the race, saying: “To all the kids out there, dreams the impossible.”

Racing point’s driver Serigo Perez finished second while on-going Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel finished third, his first podium finish of the season.
